Guillermo Del Toro leaves THE HOBBIT... →
I’m backing a LOTR 2nd Unit Director getting the job ala James McTeigue/Wachowskis (V for Vendetta).
But seriously, one guy who needs to get another shot at a big franchise: Alfonso Cuarón (Prisoner of Azkaban, Children of Men).
Correction: He’s still co-writing the screenplays.

I only just got around to seeing this trailer, but it seems to me that Season 3 will be more Dallas than Maenad, plot wise. Which is fantastic.
Seriously, at the end of Season 1, all I wanted to know was “What the hell is Maryann?”. Halfway into Season 2 I just didn’t give a shit. I swear that last season was written by two different writers rooms.

It’s all ATV ever needed to be, something that streams video from an iTunes store based (fingers crossed but not mentioned in the article at all) subscription service.
If Josh’s sources are right about this and a subscription thing pans out, Apple is going to sell millions of these. Even if it doesn’t have a fancy new payment model, the apps will take care of it… in the US...

Your Twitter app needs work OR Why I always go...
While having a look at Seesmic’s iPhone app tonight, I came to this conclusion: If I can’t click on links, usernames or hashtags from the timeline, your iPhone Twitter app is missing vital functionality that is even offered by the Twitter website.
Twitter for iPhone (nee Tweetie) even fails at this, so don’t feel too bad, Seesmic.
I’ve used a lot of Twitter apps on the...

LOST did exactly what I needed it to do.
I cried a little, I laughed a little and I’m not righteously indignant about anything.
Essentially: For me, it was what I needed to move on. Funny that.
Thanks Damon. Thanks Carlton.

– Alan Sepinwall, on why he trusts (and so should you) Damon, Carlton & the rest of LOST’s creative team to bring the series to a satisfying conclusion. (via lostlunch)

Things that are probably true.
Chris Klein’s coked up Mamma Mia audition tape is for reals.
Chris Klein is Suri Cruise’s biological father.
I’ll never actually get around to watching Chris Klein in Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li but that doesn’t mean I don’t really want to. I hear it’s amazing.

Across the Sea and the cynical fanbase.
The amount of people turning on Damon and Carlton today is amusing.
Are any of them really going to stop watching because Jack said Adam and Eve’s clothes were only 50 years old?
Some criticism has been measured and thoughful (Jace Lacob, Televisionary) and some are ready to tar and feather Darlton for ruining their beloved show.
Myself? I was pleased with the episode. The confirmation...
