Large post about Poker

So on Saturday during Muppet Poker League (the derogatory but reasonably accurate name given to our home game exploits) we seem to have fashioned our very own brand of Hold ‘em out of thin air (or at least by combining a few different types of thin air).

Introduced to us by the incomperable Dr House, the Hold’em form ‘Colorado’ was encouraged as a fun alternative to our reasonably straight forward rule set: On the flop prop cards (10c payable) and the HSP inspired Seven-Deuce (50c payable).

Colorado functions as regular Texas Hold’em until the River, where each player is dealt their own 5th street instead of another community card. But we didnt stop there.

Our appetite for freaky variations far from satisfied, we then moved on to old favourite Crazy Pineapple. Three hole cards - throw one away post flop.

Deuces wild followed. This is a game I would not recommend playing with actual real life moneys.

Of course, the only thing left was to combine all three. Since I lost about $35 on a single round of Deuces Wild alone, it was agreed that this be left out of the equation. Thus was invented:

South Park (aka Crazy Pineapple Colorado)

We didnt even stop there. Why not make the personal river cards face up? SURE! Resulting in:

South Park Cows aka Turd Sandwich aka Big Gay Al aka You Bastards!

I’ve since done some reading and it turns out that we probably shouldnt be playing it crazy (pre-flop discard) but damn its a fun game.

Its a guaranteed rollercoaster of emotions.
