Your Twitter app needs work OR Why I always go back to Echofon.

While having a look at Seesmic’s iPhone app tonight, I came to this conclusion: If I can’t click on links, usernames or hashtags from the timeline, your iPhone Twitter app is missing vital functionality that is even offered by the Twitter website.

Twitter for iPhone (nee Tweetie) even fails at this, so don’t feel too bad, Seesmic.

I’ve used a lot of Twitter apps on the iPhone. Echofon started off pretty rubbish (early on, Twitterfon was ugly as sin) but has evolved really well. As well as the above, it has things like username and hashtag completion that I pine for in any other Twitter client I use, be it desktop or mobile.
